The #1 fear of anyone looking to market in Google is spending too much money. Nearly every day I hear clients say, “I can't spend thousands of dollars online, I’ll go broke! Will you protect me from spending too much?”
My answer is always the same – a firm NO!
Why would I tell them no? Let me show you why.
We recently set a new client up and they were advertising on Google for the first time. After watching day one and day two go by spending $50 a day, they now see $100 spent. They quickly do the math and realize they could easily spend $2,000 by the end of 30 days. YIKES!
Instead of focusing on how much is being spent, a better question is: What rate of return should I expect from my PPC investment? The key is conversions - tracking is everything!
The amount spent per keyword or term is not important for anyone except the one creating and running the campaign - that is how the spend is created. The only question we need answered is: how much is your average order?
In the end, the important thing to focus on is not just how much you spent, but also how many orders you received.
